We went to eat some delicious Thai food at Saffron. This place is delicious and really cute. The place is filled with art and photos of famous people that have eaten there. They have a little kitchen on the side where they only cook big to-go orders; that’s how popular they are. I ordered the tofu pad-se-ew noodles. As you can see, Declan wanted a bite of those. What’s nice is that they sell kid portions as well; so I’ll definitely be taking Declan there when he can eat whole food.
Right next door is the perfect little dessert spot, Gelato Vero Caffe. They have coffee drinks and in-house made gelato. Nicolas got coconut, which he shared with Declan, and I got my favorite, chocolate hazelnut; paired with an iced coffee since coffee is always a good idea. The place is small but there are plenty of little tables and chairs outside.
I definitely recommend these two spots if you’re ever at the bottom of Mission Hills.
Here’s a fraction of my wishlist from this beautifully stocked store. What’s nice is that they now have an online store too- for those that don’t live in SD. But if you’re ever in San Diego, I recommend stopping by here then grabbing some food in one of the many awesome eateries in North Park.
